Abran Jonathan Rodriguez
Abran is a behavioral therapist at Brightline.
Abran lives in Victoria, Texas, and enjoys listening to and playing music. (He has been a classical pianist for over 20 years.) Abran also likes traveling to new places with family and friends, hiking, riding his bike, and doing research on counseling methods and techniques.
Abran has 8 years of public education experience, having served as a fine arts teacher, department head, and school counselor. At Corpus Christi Independent School District, Abran served as the campus lead counselor for the highest at-risk middle school in the area. As the district lead counselor, he supervised comprehensive school counseling programs for over 13 campuses.
Abran has also served in a variety of Texas-wide associations and organizations including the Texas Counseling Association, specifically as a contributor to task forces related to research, diversity, and inclusion. He currently serves as president-elect for the Texas Association for Humanistic Education and Development.
Abran’s areas of expertise include working with children and adolescents with neurological and behavioral disorders. He is also interested in researching treatment methods for individuals experiencing mental health issues related to their LGBTQIA+ identity.
Abran has a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education & Supervision from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
